The sinister adaro (singular and plural) are imperious aquatic entities that claim the waters of the world as their kingdom, and all living things as their cattle.  They are amphibious blue humanoids with gills, webbed extremities, fin-like crests atop their skulls, and prominent protrusions (either bladed like a sawfish’s, or pointed like a swordfish’s) jutting from their foreheads.

Adaro suffer Stamina damage as normal, but only take wounds from blessed, enchanted, or silvered weapons, or electricity-based attacks.

Adaro control water psychokinetically, and use it like Telekinesis [Cryptworld, p. 30; substitute PWR for WPR] to move it or objects within.  This costs 15 WPR per use.  And for 20 WPR, they can summon schools of 5d10 carnivorous flying fish that attack as large birds [p. 54] and inflict up to moderate damage.

Adaro Powers

Hydro-Control:  In addition to the abilities above, adaro can manipulate water to create a number of effects.  This requires a specific PWR check, and costs 50 WPR.

S =
Light fog covers a 100’ radius for 2d10 minutes.  All attacks suffer a -15 modifier.
L =
Heavy fog obscures a 300’ radius for 4d10 minutes.  All melee attacks suffer a -25 modifier, and ranged attacks a -50 modifier.
M =
Heavy rains pelt a 500’ radius for an hour.  Visibility is reduced to zero; all melee attacks suffer a -50 modifier, and ranged attacks are impossible.  Movement is quartered.
H =
Storms deluge a 1000’ radius, with the same effects as M above, plus lightning strikes, geysers, and / or whirlpools.  The Crypt Master should determine the specific damage(s) involved.
C =
A mighty wave crushes everything in a quarter-mile radius, inflicting Catastrophic damage.

PLANET MOTHERFUCKER'S MOST WANTED: JONATHAN SKAGG, AKA "THE BLEEDER"

Campfire tales and urban legends warn of a murderous, gore-drenched psychopath who hides behind a trademark hockey mask.

That's not Jonathan Skagg.

No, Skagg's the other murderous, gore-drenched psychopath who hides behind a trademark hockey mask.  Or any other mask, really, as he's a master of disguise who always conceals his true face.

Little is known of Skagg's origins, other than he's spent considerable time institutionalized between killing sprees.  When disguised, he's gregarious and personable enough to pass as "normal", and since he works and plays well with other slashers, he's often the "inside man" on terrible team-ups.

When Skagg gets excited, aroused, or stressed (which all happen when he's a-murderin'), his nose bleeds copiously... hence the nickname, and why his victims are soaked in far more of the red stuff than their corpses originally contained.

IT'S MY THING — SEWERSAUR

This critter is based on a trashy "England gets devoured" novel (there were a ton of 'em in the late 70s) I read as a teen.  Well, actually, based on just the cover, as the book featured carnivorous worms instead of lizards.

TOTAL.  BETRAYAL.

Sewersaurs are sinuous, foot-long lizards with iridescent scales, glinting red eyes, and razored teeth.  They thrive in wet, noxious environs, and typically infest urban drainage networks or septic systems.  Packs of sewersaurs easily navigate plumbing, and many a hapless victim has been skeletonized while luxuriating in the bathtub of a swanky highrise apartment.

Though only capable of inflicting light wounds, sewersaurs are ferocious and fast, and attack twice per round.   They are usually found in swarms of 7d10+15, though nests can contain hundreds…

...or thousands…

...OR MORE!!!

Grunches are savage, 8’-tall goat-men with curled horns, shaggy pelts, and horizontally-pupiled eyes that burn with malice.  They stalk isolated locales used as “lovers’ lanes” by amorous teenagers.

Both drawn to, and agitated by, the pheromones and psychic energies generated by canoodling couples, grunches attack in a blind rage with mighty fists and/or primitive hatchets.  They first assail the vehicle, disabling it and trapping the shrieking occupants within.  Grunches spend the next several rounds bellowing in tandem with their targets’ shrieks, savoring the terror.  Only after their victims scream themselves hoarse do grunches drag them free for butchering and consumption.

Evidence suggests that some puritanical, backwoods communities keep a grunch "on hand" to weed out the morally impure and other undesirables.

IT'S MY THING. I DO WHAT I WANNA DO!!!

September saw the release of Goblinoid Games' clawsome Monsters Macabre book (coordinated by none other than Official Honorary Haunted Spook Of Channel X, the fangtastic Tim Snider!) for the skeleteriffic Cryptworld game.

It's a dandy tome chock full o' Things, Thangs, and Thungs to bedevil your PCs.  And it's even BETTER because it contains seven whole creatures contributed by my own bad self!  I totally got paid, suckas!

Tragically, a handful of my submissions didn't make the cut... but all is not lost, because I'm gonna post 'em here!  (They'll have Cryptworld stats instead of Savage Worlds, though, because I'm wicked lazy after my October Scoob-a-thon.)

Check back tomorrow for an entry!
